After WW2 Frogshole was occupied by the Tedders; Mrs Kathleen Tedder gave these memories to Gill Willis. Mr Teddar was a gardener. He made the brick fireplace, attached privy and the porch and the two windows either side. In the scullery was a cooker which was upgraded to an electric version when electricity arrived - before that the cottage was lit by oil lamps. When piped mains water arrived Mr Teddar filled in the well. Mrs Teddar used to walk down to Chobham each Thursday for her weekly shopping but when returning up the Steep became too much for her Mr Cobb would give her a lift back. |
